The Cars

Team Earle fields two purpose-built race cars: the #39 Radical SR3, which contests the Radical Cup Canada (RCC) presented by Michelin and sanctioned by FEL Motorsports, and the McLaren Artura GT4, a cutting-edge GT race car developed by McLaren Customer Racing.

Together, the two cars represent distinctly different approaches to performance. The lightweight, open-cockpit Radical is designed to deliver the immediacy and aerodynamic performance of a prototype, while the closed-cockpit McLaren brings advanced carbon-fibre construction, sophisticated electronics and GT racing technology derived from one of motorsport’s most storied manufacturers.

Radical SR3

Hand-crafted in the United Kingdom, the Radical SR3 is a prototype race car designed to generate extremely high levels of downforce while achieving a top speed of approximately 147 miles per hour and accelerating from zero to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds.

Built for both performance and precision, the open-cockpit SR3 is engineered around aerodynamics, lightweight construction and exceptional cornering ability. Its combination of mechanical grip and aerodynamic downforce allows it to carry extraordinary speed through corners while remaining responsive and accessible to the driver.

Now in its sixth model evolution, the SR3 is powered by a Suzuki Hayabusa-based four-cylinder engine and features a solid-state electrical system supplied by AiM Technologies to manage the car’s electrical functions and extensive data acquisition capabilities. The latest generation also incorporates a technologically advanced multifunction steering wheel featuring controls and displays more commonly associated with high-level single-seaters and Le Mans Prototypes.

Measuring approximately 160.5 inches from end to end, the compact SR3 rides on 15-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels, contributing to its exceptionally low mass and agile handling characteristics.

The Radical SR3 has become one of the most successful prototype-style race cars of its kind, combining outright speed with reliability and relatively approachable operating characteristics. Its lightweight chassis and highly developed aerodynamic package make it an exceptionally capable competition car for drivers looking to push the limits of both themselves and the machine.

McLaren Artura GT4

McLaren Artura GT4

The McLaren Artura GT4 represents the latest generation of McLaren’s customer GT racing program. Developed from the road-going Artura but engineered specifically for competition, the GT4 applies McLaren’s decades of Formula One and sports-car experience to a race car designed for professional and amateur drivers alike.

At its foundation is McLaren’s Carbon Fibre Lightweight Architecture (MCLA), providing an exceptionally strong and rigid platform while keeping weight to a minimum. Unlike the hybrid road-going Artura, the GT4 dispenses with the hybrid system, reducing weight and complexity while allowing the car to be optimized specifically for racing.

Power comes from a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine, with output managed in accordance with GT4 Balance of Performance regulations to ensure close competition between different manufacturers. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a competition-developed transmission, while adjustable motorsport traction control and ABS allow the driver to fine-tune the car as track and tyre conditions change.

A highly developed aerodynamic package incorporates a front splitter, rear wing, carefully managed airflow and a low, wide stance to generate stability and downforce without compromising the performance characteristics required under GT4 regulations. Racing suspension, competition brakes, slick tyres and extensive onboard data systems further transform the Artura from a road-going supercar into a dedicated racing machine.

Where the Radical delivers the visceral experience of a lightweight prototype, the Artura GT4 offers an entirely different challenge. With greater mass, substantially more power and the enclosed architecture of a modern GT car, it rewards precision under braking, disciplined tyre management and the ability to exploit its immense mechanical grip.
