6th Place Finish at Calabogie

The Team Earle #39 Camp Ooch Radical SR3 finished in 6th place in Round 2 of the Radical Cup Canada race at Calabogie Motorports Park. We qualified the car in 10th place after struggling with engine overheating issues all day Saturday. Starting from the back of the pack in treacherous conditions, with the spray from the cars ahead limiting visibility to a few car lengths and variable grip around the track, we had to play it safe - an incident in Calabogie wouldn't have left our team time to prepare for the next round of the championship in Illinois.

We hung back around the last turn before the start and go the jump on two cars ahead of us, but backed off coming into the first major breaking zone expecting carnage ahead. Thankfully our fears weren't realized, but the #99 got past us on the exit of turn 2 where we had to leave room and run wide and it took us until lap 9 to safely overtake. Once past him, we rapidly pulled away setting the fastest overall laps of the race and caught the #83 struggling on its tires in the final turn before the chequered flag. One more corner and we might have had 5th place, but that's racing!
